When the Science Museum are holding a season of free exhibitions dedicated to showcasing India's scientists and photographers... of course I'm going to have to go and check it out. My inner magpie was most excited by Chila Kumari Burman's mixed media artwork. out of everyone on display. What can I say... I can't resist a sparkle! Pop culture informs her recent vibrant body of work. She even challenges the stereotypical assumptions of Asian women. This is a close-up of artwork displayed on (what I must assume is) sari fabric. Eye-catching, attention-grabbing, thought-provoking. What more could you ask for?
- - - Rosh Realness - - - At first, I was drawn to this simply because of the elephant, as I just LOVE them. When I was younger I visited the zoo and imagined I could take the baby elephant home and she could secretly live in my wardrobe. I'd feed her leftovers from my meals and I'd call her Ellie. Yep, that was a plan doomed from the start haha.
